Dear Parents and Staff

On behalf of the staff at Grandport Academy, I am happy to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year! We are going to have a phenomenal year putting our children first to achieve their highest potential. In order for our students to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. The staff at Grandport and myself understand a strong partnership with you will make the difference in your child’s education. As partners, we have the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know we will do our best to carry out our responsibility. We ask that you support your child’s learning by ensuring he/she will:

Attend school regularly and arrive on time daily

Read at least 20 minutes every day including Sundays

Eat a balance meal

Sleep 6-8 hours every night

Bring excellence to school everyday

Here are some of the new things you will find at Grandport Academy this year:

All eighth-grade classes have been returned to Grandport Academy

We will be reopening the media center/library

Algebra I will be offered for high school credit beginning Fall of 2017

As principal of Grandport Academy, I am entering my 17th year in education and look forward to our continued partnership and commitment to educate our children.

Sincerely yours,

Patrick L. Burrage

Principal Grandport Academy
